I live in California where there can sometimes be ugliness concerning the hispanic population. We see families wheeling their babies down the sidewalks and holding toddlers by the hand and from the very depths of my heart I wish them well. The politics here in Orange County are pretty conservative, so I'm obviously not a "go with the flow" person, but that is okay. We can just hope that our citizens become kinder as time goes by. Good job!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678828802395704579.post-5049754114793848852008-07-07T05:10:00.000+09:002008-07-07T05:10:00.000+09:00How crazy is this? Life is just too weird sometimes.

It's been 32 years since I left Seoul so I too feel like a total foreigner reading your stories about Korea. Thanks for the tour!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678828802395704579.post-26726715298382670692008-06-13T00:16:00.000+09:002008-06-13T00:16:00.000+09:00Sam, I loved reading what you have to say on issue...Sam, I loved reading what you have to say on issues of "foreigners". It is crazy America is so unfriendly to the new considering we are a country built on immigrants. Me and Aaron are white, but my great-grandparents were Irish immigrants, his grandparents Polish. And almost every person in this country (unless your Native American) has a similar story. Everyone here comes from somewhere else.
I know that immigration is an incredibly tough subject, but I think it is one that should be dealt with with kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness, like in your article. I appreciated you posting your thoughts. I have been thinking of this even in regard to visitors in our church families. Thanks for writing this blog article and sharing your thinking. Dorothy GravesAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
